I don't repaint. I rebuild. Found and inherited furniture, remade in structure and colour, by hand in my Antwerp atelier. Custom commissions, numbered editions, workshops.
I make statement pieces from material that already exists. Colour isn't the finish here. It builds the structure and decides how the whole room lives around it.
Hall pieces, dining tables, desks, radiator-covers, dressoires. Each one built for the exact space it lives in. Bring me a piece you were ready to give up on. Or take one off the line. I'll rethink it in structure and colour. Never just a repaint.
Numbered, signed collectible pieces, and a standing range built to order in the finish you choose. Found domestic objects, given a second life.
Not craft night. Finishing systems, material behaviour and colour decisions that hold up. Small groups, everything provided, a finished piece to take home.
Site-specific objects inside a spatial concept, and limited series with a clear concept per series. Numbered, exhibition-ready.
Eight works, street-found and inherited, rebuilt across three colour systems. One wears the feet of another. Numbered, signed, finished in 2K polyurethane that outlives the trend that made you want it. Reserve before the drop.
Enter Second ActThe Object Diagnosis reads it for you. A custom AI tool I built on my own framework: one written brief on whether to recontextualise, reinterpret, redesign, or let it go, with a colour direction and a next step. Or just follow the work, the newsletter goes out whenever there's something worth your time.

I'm Nicola Beger. German roots, based in Antwerp. I grew up between my father's workshop and my mother's paint. Our hallway at home was pure Hundertwasser, made by hand before I could reach the wall.
That's where this started. At the kitchen table, not at an academy.
Today I work from my own atelier. I redesign furniture structurally, never cosmetically, and I use colour as a design tool. Material knowledge and a proper finish sit under everything I make.

"Nici recycled our old cabinets and gave them new life. Beautiful and one of a kind. A real craftswoman with an eye for detail."
"Three beautiful side tables for our practice. Exactly to our wishes, with a superb finish. We're really happy with them."
"Clear and transparent from the start, so I always knew where I stood. The result is beautifully finished, exactly as I'd pictured it."
Every project starts with a conversation. From there, you get a proposal built for you and no one else.
