How your data is handled on nicolabeger.com, written to meet the GDPR. A working template; have it reviewed before you rely on it.
1. Who is responsible
Nicola Beger, Antwerp, Belgium. VAT BE 1016.170.416. Contact for any privacy question: hello@nicolabeger.com.
2. What I collect
- Contact and intake forms: your name, email, and whatever you write in the message.
- Newsletter / notify list: your email, and which piece or list you signed up for.
- Orders and reservations: billing details and payment status, handled by ThriveCart. I don't see or store your full card details.
- Technical: basic, standard server and analytics data such as approximate location and pages viewed.
3. Why, and on what basis
- To answer you and fulfil orders — performance of a contract, or steps before one.
- To send the newsletter and drop alerts — your consent, which you can withdraw any time.
- To meet legal duties — such as invoicing and tax.
- To keep the site working and secure — my legitimate interest.
4. Who processes it for me
I use a small number of trusted providers as processors:
- MailerLite — email list and newsletters.
- ThriveCart — checkout and payment.
- Netlify — website hosting and form handling.
- Google Fonts — typography loaded from Google.
Some of these may process data outside the EU under standard safeguards. I don't sell your data, ever.
5. Cookies
This site keeps cookies to a minimum:
- Essential — a small preference that remembers you dismissed the cookie notice.
- MailerLite — set when you interact with a sign-up form, to make it work and prevent spam.
- ThriveCart — set only when you go to checkout, to run the purchase.
You can refuse or delete cookies in your browser settings. Blocking them may stop the sign-up or checkout from working.
6. How long I keep it
Order and invoice records are kept as long as Belgian tax law requires. Newsletter data is kept until you unsubscribe. Enquiries are kept only as long as needed to help you.
7. Your rights
You can ask to access, correct, delete, restrict, or receive a copy of your data, object to a use of it, or withdraw consent. Email hello@nicolabeger.com and I'll act within one month.
8. Complaints
If you're not satisfied, you can contact the Belgian Data Protection Authority (gegevensbeschermingsautoriteit.be).
