Custom commissions

Bring me something that already exists.

Every commission starts from something that already exists, an object, a material, or a spatial problem, and I redesign it into an original piece. I rework what's there as far as the design demands, and new material comes in only where structure or function needs it.

The design is the work. The build serves it.

Durability decides everything, to your budget. Where the old material is worth saving, I save it. A marble table foot can stay and carry a new top in tropical hardwood that outlives all of us. Where it isn't worth it, new material earns its place. Less waste, longer life, one object made for one room.

Material with a past

Companies clear out chairs, desks, metal, offcuts, marble, and I take in the pieces worth a second life. Clearing a space? Catch me before the skip.

Where a commission starts
An existing object

A piece with a past

Something with history or unrealised potential that needs radical reinterpretation. I take it back to structure and rebuild its identity.

An existing material

Material worth a second life

Marble, timber, furniture components, architectural remnants, offcuts, salvaged stock. Material that deserves a new function. Bring it, or I source it.

A spatial problem

A space that needs an object

A room with a problem one piece can solve. I develop the object around existing, reclaimed or sourced material, built for that spot.

How it works
01

Intake

Tell me about the space and the piece. We talk through what it needs to do and where it sits.

02

Proposal

You get a concept, a colour direction and a fixed price. Nothing starts before you agree it.

03

Build

I redesign, rebuild and finish by hand. You get a piece made for one room, yours.

Not sure your piece is worth saving? Most people guess wrong. Run the €19 Object Diagnosis first and get the read in writing.
